Con report! Oh man, this'll be long....
Friday:
After a harrowing dentist visit, I leave for the con with no hiccups. Arrive in a early fashion and all is well. Meet up with Marc and run into Elaine. Elaine informs Marc and I that the stand she works at, Anime Pavillion (yeah I really don't care about trying to hide this), is really short staffed and they could really use some help setting up. Marc says he needs to wait for him minions, but I decide to help out. So over I go.
I get there and meet the infamous Mike and am told I am to sort the DVDs and graphic novels into to piles. I start to do so. I am them told I am doing it wrong, in the most rude fashion. I ask him to clarify. He vaguely gestures to the two places he wants stuff then takes off...so I start to move them in the locations he vaguely gestured to. He comes by AGAIN, and tells me AGAIN I am not doing it right and shouldn't be putting them where I am doing so (they were too close to the tables as I didn't want to block off an aisle to allow other tables to set up. So yet again, I move the stuff to the finally right locations. This is very tiring. Boxes of DVDs and graphics novels are not light. So then I ask what next. He then gruffy orders I should alphabatize them. To save myself I alot more stress I ask him to be more specfic. Should I remove them and alphabatize them, should I ensure they are alphabatised in the boxes...he then looks at me like I'm some kinda moron before telling me to sort the boxes themselves. So I start to do that. I think notice that since the X - Z boxes aren't all the way full, if I put stuff on top of it, it may crush it. So I start shifting graphic novels to prevent that. When Mike sees this, he tears on over and starts to yell at me not to touch the product and to stop whatever the hell I'm doing. I attempt to explain, that I'm trying to save his stuff from being mangled, when he's just like, it's fine, do as your told and storms off. Against my better judgement I do just that. Lo and behold a little while later a stack sinking since the bottom books are indeed being crushed. And guess who comes on over to fix it since he finally notices. Though he keeps his mouth shut and certainly doesn't apologise or anything like that. Time comes when I have to go to set up my own stuff for my Artist's Alley Table and I don't even get a thank you for helping out. Hell my arm is still sore from all the lifting I did. I got a graphic novel for all that and considering the aggrevation of this asshole, it was not worth it.
Anyway, that aside I go to join the artist alley when I find something very amusing. Two booths from Marc and I are Chibi and Scuz. The booth next to us has Mark. So all of us are in a row...it was rather weird how that ended up happening. The rest of the day goes pretty unevenfully, not much of my stuff sells but I was assured that as it was Friday, it was a big browsing time for attendees, not so much the buying.
I find some time to run over to the Mainframe booth and meet the creator of the show Gavin Blair. He even signs the artbook I had brought with me. I managed to surpress my fangirling enough to just thank him for signing and giggled as soon as I returned to my table.
After the con ends, head out with Kinnon and Craig to crash at Kinnon's place for the eve, and catch the tailend of a horrible movie his housemates were watching, "The Good Shepard". Ick, not a good movie. Sleep then ensues.
I'll pick this up tomorrow with more...already pretty long as is.
